Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her battle with postpartum depression after giving birth to her son Moses.
The actress reflected on going into a “dark place” after the birth of her second child in 2006 on The Goop Podcast.
“I had terrible postnatal depression which I think it was really shocking to me because I never thought I would be a person who go postnatal depression,” she said.
The 45-year-old expected to be as “euphoric” as she was when she gave birth to her first child, daughter Apple, but it was very different experience with Moses.

“I assumed it would happen with Mosey and it took a while,” Gwyneth explained. “I went into a dark place.”
Gwyneth gave birth to her first child, Apple, with then husband Chris Martin in 2004 and gave birth to Moses in 2006.
The former couple married in 2003 but 11 years later in 2014, they announced they were “consciously uncoupling”.
The pair have remained on good terms since.
The star started dating producer Brad Falchuk in 2014 after meeting on the set of Glee.
They became engaged at the beginning of this year.
