Guy Fieri Just Posted a Heartbreaking Family Update: 'RIP To My Best Friend'
Over the weekend, Guy Fieri and his son Ryder said goodbye to their family dog Roxy. The Fieri clan announced the loss of their mastiff in a series of touching tributes they posted to Instagram Stories on Sunday.
In an adorable throwback, Ryder shared a photo of himself lying down next to Roxy who was just a pup at the time.
"R.I.P. to my best friend. Love you Rox," he wrote in his caption, People reports.
Given that Ryder just started his first year at San Diego State University, the 18-year-old had to travel back home to say goodbye to Roxy. "So proud of my son @_ryderfieri for flying home for 5 hours to say goodbye to his dog Roxy," the celebrity chef wrote on Instagram. He also revealed that his family is going to miss their gentle giant greatly.
"She lived a great life with our family. We are going to miss her," said Guy on social media.
This doesn't serve as the first time the Fieri family has mourned the loss of a beloved pet. Just last year, their German Shepard, Cowboy passed away.
Guy announced the loss online, writing, "Today is the saddest day in the Fieri family...He was one a kind and brought so much love and energy to our family."
The Diners, Drive-ins and Dives host was immediately met with a flood of comments from fans sharing their condolences.
