Groom's Best Man Winds Up in All His Wedding Photos with Bride: 'Look Like a Throuple in Every Pic' (Exclusive)
"Someone should have told us!" the bride tells PEOPLE
A couple looked more like a throuple on their wedding day.
After Ashley and Alex Renzi got married on Aug. 4, 2022, at Belle Mer: A Longwood Venue in Newport, Rhode Island, they were joined by the best man, Mckyle Goulden, in nearly all of their wedding portraits.
"When your photographer fails to tell you that you, your husband, and his best man look like a throuple in every pic," Ashley captioned a photo compilation video on TikTok, which went viral this year and last year.
Commenters on TikTok genuinely couldn't tell who the groom was half of the time, as Ashley stood closely between the two lookalike men in many of the photos. In one picture, Goulden is even giving Alex a kiss on the cheek.
"You didn’t marry him, you married both of them 😂," a comment with nearly 50,000 likes reads.
Another person wrote, "He is the main character of your relationship."
"When we got our photo proofs we started flipping through and I immediately went OH MY GOSH!" Ashley tells PEOPLE. "First Alex and Mckyle look like brothers, and second because we forgot the boutonnieres in the hotel room [so] it looks like they’re dressed exactly the same, and third OMG we all stood so close to each other! Someone should have told us!"
The trio haven't been mistaken as a throuple in person, only in photos. However, Ashley has mixed up Alex and his best friend before.

"When we were younger I used to get them confused from behind!" she says. "I've known Mckyle my whole life since he lived in my childhood street and Alex has known Mckyle since first grade when they became best friends instantly! They were both the tallest ones in the class and had the same love for life and sense of humor."

Ashley and Alex grew up together and have been in a relationship since they were 13 and 14 years old.
Meanwhile, Alex met Goulden in the first grade. Their brother-like bond formed over their shared love of sports and music. Goulden is like a brother to Ashley as well. He used to show up at her door almost every day when they were just 8 years old to play outside together.
"Mckyle was so happy for us! His speech talked about his time growing up with each of us!" the bride says. "He lit up our dance floor and made sure everyone was having the best time!"
