Penn Badgley just decided to bring us all back to New York's Upper East Side circa 2007 with a heartwarming Gossip Girl reunion.
Fully leaning into the nostalgia for The CW show, Badgley, known for playing Dan Humphrey on the series, teamed up with his co-star Taylor Momsen, who portrayed Dan's sister Jenny, for a new project.
Alas, there isn't an actual Gossip Girl reunion on the horizon, nor is there a chance to know more about the lives of the teens of the reboot after it got canceled earlier this year.
Complying with the current actors' strike, Badgley and Momsen didn't meet up for an acting project. The You star and The Pretty Reckless singer recorded Badgley's podcast Podcrushed and shared a couple of snaps from their sweet reunion on Instagram.
"A reunion worth waiting for…" Badgley wrote in the caption, adding a twins with bunny ears emoji. "But don't ask us what's going on in the second photo, we don't know either."
While the first image sees the two stars in a cute pose reminiscent of their siblings' dynamic on the show, the second snap sees Badgley rocking some serious smokey eyes, possibly courtesy of Momsen, who sports similar makeup.
The former actress has been fronting her post-grunge band since 2009, with the final season of Gossip Girl being her most recent acting credit.
As for Badgley, the actor has left nice guy Dan behind to embrace his new TV character Joe Goldberg, the stalker and killer protagonist of Netflix's You.
Set to return to the streamer for a fifth and final season, the series will pick things up after Joe comes clean with his new partner Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) after leaving several dead bodies in his trail.
You seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix. The fifth and final season is is yet to confirm a release date.
