Gordon Ramsay Shared Shocking Before And After Photos Following A Devastating Cycling Accident
Gordon Ramsay, my favorite guilty pleasure celebrity chef, has a critical message for his fans, especially the fathers.
The MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen star spends his time outside the kitchen enjoying "cycling, triathlons, Iron Mans, etc.," and recently suffered a "really bad" bike accident.
The world-renowned restaurateur posted a message of advice on his social media while addressing concern over his condition.
"I have very important message for all the dads out there…WEAR A HELMET!" Gordon started off the caption. "This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I'm doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato."
In the video shared on his social media, Gordon elaborated on his message, saying, "Hi guys, it's Gordon. I would like to share a very important message with you all. You know how much I like cycling, and triathlons, Iron Mans, etc."
"This week, unfortunately, I had a bad accident, and it really shook me," he continued. "And honestly, I'm lucky to be here. Now, from those incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses in the hospital who looked after me this week — they were amazing. But honestly, you got to wear a helmet. I don't care how short the journey is. I don't care the fact that these helmets cost money... They're crucial. Even with the kids, on a short journey, they got to wear a helmet."
"Now, I'm lucky to be standing here. I'm in pain. It's been a brutal week. And I'm, sort of, getting through it."
Following the cautionary tale of his cycling accident, Gordon showed the shocking bruise he developed on his body.
He also shared a before-and-after photo of his helmet and gear to illustrate the importance of bike safety. Here's before:

The Future Food Stars cohost's message was met with an outpouring of concern and validation.
OH MY!! That bruise... 😭Grateful you're still with us, Chef! 🙏🏼🤍

And it doesn't matter how great a rider you are--there are lousy, inattentive drivers out there!

As an emerg doc, I can’t support this strongly enough. Protect your brain. Traumatic brain injuries - even mild ones - can be so devastating. Please please please wear a helmet. https://t.co/COlmLTyajT
