'GMA's Michael Strahan Laughs Off Scary On-Air Mishap

Michael Strahan recently dealt with a somewhat scary on-air mishap, but luckily, everything turned out A-okay in the end.

During a Good Morning America segment on Thursday, Sept. 19, the news broadcast host was trying out a new snack alongside his co-anchors, but started to choke a bit as he tried to get them down.

As Strahan, George Stephanopoulos, and Will Reeves announced that M&Ms was introducing their first new flavor innovation in two years, Peanut Butter & Jelly, the former NFL star began to fill his mouth with several pieces of the small chocolate candies—potentially more than he could handle at one time.

Though he declared they were "very good," the review of the sweet treat was followed by laughter after a co-host made a comment, causing Strahan to slightly choke on what was left in his mouth as he continued to chew.

Reeves appeared on camera, attempting to introduce the next story, but had to pause for a second to acknowledge, "Michael is maybe choking on an M&M," as they all continued to giggle through the segment.

"Go ahead," Strahan confirmed, as Reeves asked, "May I continue?"

"Yes, please," the TV personality answered.

Before this episode where he struggled to swallow the candy he was eating, he recently gave his opinion on another popular food item: hot wings.

During the morning show on Sept. 5, Robin Roberts took on the Hot Ones challenge on live television, but beforehand, she broke down the decision with Strahan and Stephanopoulos.

"I do like the challenge. We'll see what happens," she said, before Strahan jumped in with his own take on it, saying, "I love the show. I will do the show, I just wouldn't do it live. I'm just sayin'."
