Glen Powell's Complete Dating History Is Honestly Charming (and Yes, Dramatic)
Glen Powell and his wet white t-shirt are currently single and ready to mingle with you (manifestation is real, I won't be convinced otherwise). But despite being in his single era, Glen has been coupled up for most of his career in the spotlight—and we're taking a look back at his relationship history. Starting with someone you might have completely forgotten he dated. Ahem:
Nina Dobrev: January 2017 to November 2017
Glen kicked off dating rumors with Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev in January of 2017, and had several cute moments including this:
And this:
And also this:
But their relationship only lasted until November, when a source told E! News, "There hasn't been an official 'split' but Nina and Glen have been taking time apart. Nina just wrapped on a project and is about to start another and her schedule has been a huge part of it. They haven't been spending much time together since the end of the summer."
The exes have stayed super friendly—Nina even walked the Top Gun: Maverick red carpet with her now-fiancé Shaun White.
Plus, here's Nina celebrating Glen's birthday just a few months after their split:
And here's them casually hanging with George Clooney in 2022:
Renee Bargh: June 2018 to ~ November 2019
Glen and Extra host Renee Bargh started dating in Summer 2018, though their relationship wasn't reported on until November, when a source told Us Weekly they'd been together “for six months,” and another insider said “Renee has been staying at Glen’s place.”
These two split sometime before November of 2019, at least based on Renee telling the Daily Mail "I am currently single. A good Aussie boy would be great, so if you know anyone throw them my way."
Gigi Paris: January 2020 to April 2023
Gigi and Glen started dating in January of 2020 (or at least that's when they were first papped) and their relationship went public pretty fast. They appeared on multiple red carpets together over the years (and were Instagram official, though the evidence has mostly been deleted).
Glen and Gigi broke up in April 2023 amid false/inaccurate rumors about his relationship with Sydney Sweeney, and Gigi made it clear she was over him on Instagram:
A source told People at the time that "Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia they both decided to break up for good."
As for the internet spiraling over Gigi "unfollowing" Sydney on social media, the source said "Gigi only unfollowed Sydney on social media because Sydney never followed her back. This had nothing to do with Glen and Sydney. Gigi is aware that Glen and Sydney never hooked up. He takes his work very seriously and it was tough on the relationship."
FYI, Glen told Business Insider that he and Sydney were fully aware of the rumors, and even leaned into them for the sake of the movie's promo: "I'll pretty much give Sydney all the credit for this. I don't have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she's very smart. She's very smart.... And look, Sydney and I do have authentic chemistry. I had such a wonderful journey with her on this thing. But in terms of actual dating and actually being together? [Laughs.]"
He also noted that the press impacted his personal life, saying “The only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour. I was with someone that I really loved and cared about and was trying to kind of make sense of a lot of stuff. It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship, and she’s very happy. So it was a little harder for me.”
No One: Circa This Summer
Last time we checked, Glen was single and intended to keep it that way. "This is a time where life is moving so fast that I don’t even know if I could bring someone into it in a healthy way even if I tried," he told Gayle King while promoting Hit Man, adding "I’m not chasing love. If love comes and hits me in the face and knocks me over, I welcome it with open arms, 'cause that's something I really want. Even just being with my niece and nephew today, I really want kids. I really want that phase of life. It’s not far away, and at the same time I realize it’s going to take a very specific type of person to navigate this. It's a lot."
We'll update this if anything changes!
