Gigi Hadid "Offered Her Support" to Ex Zayn Malik After Liam Payne's Death
The one-time couple broke up in 2021.
They may no longer be a couple, but that's not stopping Gigi Hadid from offering Zayn Malik a shoulder to lean on. According a source at Page Six, the supermodel has checked in on her ex-boyfriend amid the tragic passing of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
“Gigi reached out to Zayn to offer her condolences after Liam’s passing,” the insider shared, adding that Hadid was “there to listen and offered her support if Zayn needed anything at all or just wanted to talk.”
Hadid and Malik dated on and off for six years from 2015 to 2021 and welcomed a daughter named Khai in September 2020.
Despite their past differences, the source revealed that there's zero bad blood between the exes. “Gigi and Zayn have had their ups and downs over the years but they’ve come a long way and are on much better terms," they said. "Their main focus is on coparenting Khai and they have been able to get along well.”
The insider continued, “Gigi and Zayn realize that they’re both going to be in each other’s lives and they’re both very mature. They just want what’s best for their daughter and they’re able to put any differences aside that they’ve had in the past and come together on the same page.”
Earlier this week, Malik and his former bandmates—Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson—reunited for the first time in almost a decade at Payne's funeral in England's Home Counties, where they paid their respects in somber black suits.
Payne died last month after falling from hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. The autopsy revealed that at the time of death, traces of cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant were found in his system. Three people have been charged in the connection of his death.
