If you needed any further proof that the preppy Renaissance is on, look no further than Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper's latest outing. The couple, who stepped out for a double date in L.A. on Saturday, December 7, donned the aesthetic's most recognizable pattern: stripes.

While Cooper opted for a striped rugby shirt in warm tones of yellow, white, and mocha brown, Hadid's cable-knit sweater from Guest in Residence was worn under a brown vest so that only her sleeves featured stripes. She paired the layered look with a furry miniskirt and matching penny loafers for a cozy, color-coordinated ensemble.

The couple was joined by Hadid's dad, Mohamed Hadid, and his girlfriend, Keni Silva, for their dinner date, which doubled as a celebration of the opening of a new Guest in Residence storefront in Beverly Hills. The model launched the knitwear brand in 2022 after educating herself about the ins and outs of the cashmere industry.

"A big part of Guest in Residence is the educational aspect," she told Fortune. "It's not about people buying more. It's about saving up for one sweater and learning how to take care of it so it lives with you through amazing things in life. You'll pass it on to someone you love in 10 years. That excites me."

Striped separates have been a mainstay of the preppy aesthetic since long before internet culture started categorizing different styles as "aesthetics," and Guest in Residence has a well-documented penchant for the pattern. (It was almost exactly a year ago that Cooper was photographed wearing another striped knit from the brand.) Back then, of course, the couple had yet to officially acknowledge their romance. They bonded over their shared status as parents and—perhaps—their shared love of stripes.

"She loves that Bradley is a dad, because he gets it," a source told People at the time. "She finds him more mature than guys she dated in the past. They keep spending a lot of time together. They have dinner dates several times a week. It makes her happy."
