While DeGraw isn't a part of a cast group chat, he revealed, "Every now and again someone will reach out and say, ‘Hey, man, you know, we're gonna get together and there's gonna be this or that and you know,’ and you go, ‘That's very cool. Let’s do something.’"
One Tree Hill ran for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012. DeGraw's "I Don't Want to Be" famously became the drama's theme song and the singer made cameos during the show's run.
On Sept. 21, the cast of One Tree Hill reunited for a special 21st State Championship Basketball Game Reunion Celebration. The event, hosted by Friends With Benefit Charity Events, took place at the UNCW Trask Coliseum in Wilmington, N.C., where the original series was filmed. The halftime show also included a special performance of "I Don't Want to Be" from DeGraw.

The reunion came a month after Bush and Hilarie Burton confirmed their plans for to reboot the hit 2000s series in August.
“What if you really can go back home?” the actresses wrote in a joint message in separate Instagram posts. “If there’s an opportunity to team with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up.”
The pair then addressed One Tree Hill fans, writing, “There’s only one Tree Hill, after all. And you — the #OTHfam — have shown us that it’s not just an idea. It really is the place where everything’s better and everything’s safe.”
