Gavin Casalegno Hints “Summer I Turned Pretty” Costar Christopher Briney Wasn't at His Wedding
“Gavin, I love you, buddy,” Briney said as he and Casalegno discussed seeing each other for the first time in a while
Gavin Casalegno’s wedding guest list remains a mystery.
The cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty came together for a panel at the 2024 Teen Vogue Summit on Nov. 24 to tease the upcoming season of the hit show. When asked about the bonds they’ve built working together, Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah, gushed over his friendship with his onscreen brother Christopher Briney, who plays Conrad.
“Chris, dude, we have some scenes in the next season that were the pinnacle of just a joy to work with you,” Casalegno said. “You're so fun to work with. That brotherly dynamic — we don't really get to flesh it out that much in [season] 1 and 2, but we really do in 3. I really enjoy working with you, and those were always some of my favorite days.”
On Nov. 12, Casalegno, 25, revealed he tied the knot with wife Cheyanne, and announced their relationship by sharing photos from the wedding. With few details, fans wondered is Briney or any other TSITP cast members were in attendance, but Casalegno (who was wearing his wedding ring at the panel) hinted that they weren’t in attendance.
“Even just today, we haven't seen each other in a little bit, and you're just so intentional with your questions, and actually wanting to know, and not just asking because it's a formality, and that’s really cool” he said, seemingly confirming that Briney didn’t go to his wedding.
There didn’t seem to be any hard feelings, though. Briney, 26, returned the compliments to Casalegno, agreeing with Jenny Han, author of TSITP books, who had said Casalegno was always “friendly to the whole crew.”
“Gavin, I love you, buddy,” Briney said. “Gavin, I think Jenny hit the nail on the head. You're so kind to the people on the set, and I think, as are everybody, I think we have a very safe environment on set.”
“You go out of your way to make people feel comfortable, and I respect that a lot,” he continued. “I think it takes a lot to just go up to people you don't know — it's hard to do that, especially as a person with a lot of anxiety. It's hard to meet new people, and be like, ‘I'm glad you're here.’”

Casalegno shocked fans with his marriage announcement earlier this month when he shared a carousel of images from the ceremony.
"FOREVER CAPTIVATED BY YOU🕊️," he captioned the post, tagging his new bride.
"Okay hard launch !!!!!" one fan commented.
"SHOCKKKKKKKKKK," wrote another. "Since when was he engaged😭😭😭," a third user said.
The first two seasons of The Summer I Turned Pretty can be streamed on Prime Video.
