Summer is well and truly on it’s way, with the UV Index reaching in the double digits and office workers dodging the harsh rays and hopping into any bit of shade they can find during their lunchtime walks.
And while we’re thrilled that it means longer evenings, beach days galore and Christmas holidays are on the horizon, it also means there’s really no excuse to be forgetting to apply our sunscreen every single day.
I was lucky enough to get to test out the $61 IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 recently and let me tell you, the little tube of magic has changed my summer morning routine forever.
I’m not going to lie, despite having pasty skin and burning to a crisp just by looking at the sun, I’m not the best with slip, slap, slopping on a daily basis, especially during the week when I spend nine hours a day sitting in an air-conditioned office.
But that was in my 20’s and now that I’m starting to actually notice a bit of the damage the sun has done to my skin in my 30’s, it’s pretty clear I’ve been neglecting probably the most important skincare step for the majority of my life.
The main thing that put me off lathering my face with sunscreen every day was how greasy my skin got and how shiny I looked and felt.
Putting foundation over the sunscreen would just make it worse, kind of like trying to paint over a bumpy wall - there’s no disguising what’s underneath.
However, it seems like I might have just been buying the wrong sunscreen, because after using just a few pumps of the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40, I knew this was the product I never knew I needed in my life.
Described on the Sephora website as the ‘matte foundation that does it all’, the CC+ cream glides on like a dream, giving full coverage while also providing SPF 40 and best of all, there’s no shiny residue.
It can be used as a foundation, concealer or as your everyday sunscreen protection based on what you’re looking for.
It seems I’m not alone in my love of the product, as along with other members of the Yahoo Lifestyle team, people have been raving about it online.
“When they say "your skin but better" believe them...I got the wrong shade for this one, but I managed to work on it on my skin.. And I love love how this one looks on me. I wear this cream for 11 hours and I have a very oily face, and to my surprise it lasted for that very long. I am very happy and satisfied with this product and will definitely get a new one, the right shade for me.. You should try and see it for yourself.. As in worth the money!!!,” one person said.
“Love it as it has very good coverage and not too thick too. Lasts the whole day and non-oily. One tube goes a long way! doesn't clog pores and cause breakouts,” another commenter said.
