It's the latest in a series of early aughts TV to be given new life, according to TV Line.
The new iteration of the high school football drama will reportedly focus on a new class of players, cheerleaders, coaches and families, though it will still take place in Texas.
Jason Katims, Pete Berg and Brian Grazer, who co-created the first Friday Night Lights series, will each return for the reboot, Deadline reports. Here's everything we know so far about the Friday Night Lights reboot.

Who is in the Friday Night Lights reboot cast?
No casting announcements have yet been made for the Friday Night Lights reboot, but it's safe to expect that the original castmembers from the film and first TV series won't return: TV Line reports that the reboot will focus on a new school, new team and new characters.
The original Friday Night Lights spawned the careers of critically acclaimed actors like Michael B. Jordan, Jesse Plemons and Jurnee Smollett and earned Kyle Chandler an Emmy for his portrayal of Coach Eric Taylor. Connie Britton, Minka Kelly, Taylor Kitsch and Zach Gilford also each saw their starpower rise from their time on the series.
