Fresh fears for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's safety after stalking ordeals

Nicole Kidman has been targeted by multiple stalkers in the past.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban looked extremely loved-up and happy while attending The Oscars, but not everything has been smooth sailing behind closed doors.

According to Woman’s Day, the Aussie power couple are facing fresh fears for their safety. The pair are planning to renovate their $6.5 million property in Sutton Forest, NSW, to alleviate security concerns.

The stars want to keep themselves and their children, 14-year-old Sunday and Faith, 12, safe, so will be adding a $32,000 gatehouse property to house their security staff. The publication reports that they are planning to have security on-site at all times.

“It is sad that they have to go to such lengths to protect their family,” one fan wrote.

“I hate that they have to do that — but children need a safe and secure home — bravo to them for putting family as a priority,” a second added.

It has been reported that the couple has been using a temporary portable structure on the property to house security guards, but they are wanting a more permanent solution.

Their permanent gatehouse application was approved by Wingecarribee Council, to help preserve the heritage character of their sprawling property.

“[The portable structure] is a detraction from the heritage property’s elegance and not in keeping with the owners’ expectations for the long-term appearance of the site,” the application said.

Nicole’s stalker ordeals

The 55-year-old Australian actress has sadly been hit by a number of stalking incidents.

In an interview with The Sun in 2011, the star revealed that she was followed by an ‘older man’ when she was just 18 years old.

SHOP:

“I had a man who followed me around - older, with long grey hair. [It] was my most frightening experience at that age. He found out where I lived and would phone me. He would just sit in a pub across the road and watch - then tell people he was a friend of mine,” she told the publication.

“The police talked to him, but said they couldn't do anything until he did something to me. You never know how bad these people are going to be."

The Moulin Rouge star also filed a restraining order against an alleged stalker in 2001, after he bombarded her with letters and wouldn’t stop visiting her Hollywood residence.
