Francesca Scorsese on Making TikToks with 'Big Kid' Martin Scorsese — and Which Trend He Won't Do (Exclusive)
Martin Scorsese's daughter Francesca boasts over 207,000 followers on her TikTok, which has grown popular for featuring her famous father
Francesca Scorsese is revealing how she convinced her famous dad Martin Scorsese to appear in her TikTok videos.
Francesca, 24, who served as the behind-the-scenes creative director on her dad’s upcoming Super Bowl commercial with Squarespace, tells PEOPLE of their TikTok videos, "I thought people were just going to be like, 'Holy crap, that's Martin Scorsese, what is he doing on this app?' Which a lot of the time it is."
Francesca's account, which currently boasts around 207,000 followers, dates back to 2018; Martin, 81, first appeared in one of her videos in 2021.
She says she first recruited her father to join in on a video "because we were sitting in our living room after dinner and I was bored and we weren't really doing anything."
"I realized those videos got a lot of likes and I was like, that's kind of crazy," she says. "But also people really enjoyed seeing them. People love seeing him doing these things and the more normal side of him. People see this big, big star and incredibly talented person, which he is, but also [they see] the dad."

Since then, Martin has made semi-frequent appearances on Francesca's TikTok page in videos ranging from him guessing what various slang terms mean to participating in many of the platform's dance trends.
"I saw people doing videos with their parents and I was like, I want to do that. I don't get why I shouldn't not do that," Francesca says. "It just makes sense to me — I'm a total daddy's girl. We're best friends. And I saw people doing this with their dads and I was like, I want to do it. So I did it and I realized that people not only loved him, but they loved our relationship. I love that because I love our relationship and we're very goofy with each other."
"He always says that I make him silly — he's like a big kid," she adds. "I say he's like a 15-year-old in an 81-year-old man's body. He is like — a certified silly goose, exactly!"

Asked whether Martin has ever rejected one of her TikTok pitches, Francesca says that he hesitated when she asked him to make a video about being Italian-American in the style of the app's "we're girls" trend, which grew popular in recent months.
"I was like, let's do 'We're Italian Americans,' " she says. "We're going to do it. But at first he was like, 'No, I don't want to offend Italians,' — he thinks he's we're going to offend. He was like, 'No, no, no, no, no, no. That's so offensive,' And I was like, 'It's not offensive and we're Italian Americans. It's what we are.' "

"And so we're going to workshop that one," she adds.
Martin most recently appeared in a video Francesca shared on Jan. 29 that makes the case he and the family's miniature schnauzer Oscar are doppelgängers. The clip has received more than 300,000 views since she posted it.
"People are always like, 'Oh my God, your dad is so lively and wild and funny and goofy, literally silly,' " Francesca tells PEOPLE. "And he's always like, 'Well, she brings out the silliness in me. She makes me all silly.' "
In addition to running her TikTok, Francesca has acted in Luca Guadagnino’s We Are Who We Are, and her short film Fish Out of Water premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and screened at Cannes. She even co-hosts the podcast Treading Lightly.
