Former Home Improvement star arrested for assaulting girlfriend

Zachery Ty Bryan, who featured in ‘90s sitcom Home Improvement alongside Tim Allen, has been arrested and accused of assault.

Police were called to the apartment of Bryan, 39, from the US state of Oregon, on Friday (local time).

They found him sitting outside and his girlfriend, 27, at a neighbouring apartment.

Bryan reportedly assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and took her phone away when she tried to call emergency services, police said.

The victim declined medical assistance.

The 39-year-old now faces charges of strangulation and assault.
