My Kitchen Rules Dads' Pancakes

Ingredients

Maple Syrup
225 g/8 oz self-raising (selfrising)
flour
60 ml/2 fl oz maple syrup
2 eggs
250 ml/8 fl oz milk
butter, for frying
Buttermilk Classic
8 fl oz/250 ml milk
juice of 1 lemon
225 g/8 oz self-raising (selfrising)
60 g/2 oz sugar
2 eggs
butter, for frying

Method

Maple

1. Preheat the frying pan over a medium heat.

2. Place the flour, maple syrup and eggs into a bowl and
whisk to beat. Slowly whisk in the milk until you have a
thick and slightly runny consistency.

3. Melt a small slice of butter in the frying pan and use
a small ladle to pour in some pancake batter. When
bubbles appear on most of the batter, flip the pancake
and fry for another 1 minute. Remove from the pan and
set aside on a plate covered with kitchen towel.

4. Repeat to make more pancakes until the batter is used
up.



Buttermilk Classic

1. Preheat the frying pan over a medium heat.

2. Whisk the milk and lemon juice together in a bowl then
allow to stand for about 5 minutes. This will make
buttermilk

3. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a separate bowl.
Slowly whisk in the buttermilk until you have a thick and
slightly runny consistency.

4. Melt a small slice of butter in the frying pan and use
a small ladle to pour in some pancake batter. When
bubbles appear on most of the batter, flip the pancake
and fry for another 1 minute. Remove from the pan and
set aside on a plate covered with kitchen towel.

5. Repeat to make more pancakes until the batter is used
up.
