Burger and King Get Free Whopper of a Wedding From Burger King

Joel Burger and Ashley King are getting married which will result in the best hyphenated last name ever.

The couple, who have known each other since elementary school and reconnected romantically as adults, recently got engaged and posed for photos outside of a Burger King chain.

The shoot caught the attention of local paper The State Journal-Register, which reported that the couple want to distribute stubby holders to their guests with their names and the date on one side and the restaurant logo on the opposite.

“We have yet to escape the teasing,” King said, but admits that they embrace the nickname with a sense of humour, hence the gag gifts.

To avoid copyright infringement, King contacted the BK corporation for use of the brand’s emblem in their July nuptials. Initially, she didn’t hear back, but as the article was shared widely across the internet, it eventually made its way to the powers that be at the fast food outlet

King reached out and Burger King responded that they had a surprise for the Burger-Kings to be - an all expenses paid wedding, including special gifts, from one Burger King to another.

Let’s just hope no McDonald’s devotees are on the invite list.
