They say less is more and it couldn’t be more true when it comes to the latest bikini trend.

The ‘floss’ bikini’ is just like it sounds, consisting of barely there string bottoms that have earned their name thanks to their resemblance of the dental tool.

Yep, they’re literally just a piece of string.

Made from minimal pieces of material, they’re held on with thin ties that hug hips.

Sometimes they’re even tied on in cute bows.

While they’re not for the faint hearted, they’re already a firm fave of stars like Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski and Tammy Hembrow.

But while some of our beloved celebs are major fans, the skimpy fashion trend caused a stir on The Bachelor last night.

Cassandra Wood rocked a black ‘floss’ bikini on her first solo date with Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins whilst at a water park, and some people were seriously shocked.

“Cass might as well have gone naked,” one surprised viewer wrote.

While the controversial swimwear is causing chaos, it hasn’t stopped retailers jumping on the bandwagon and creating their own.

A number of stores, including Glassons, Baku and Sommer Swim are offering the micro bikinis from as little as $16.99.

It’s the next level up in raciness from the last bikini trend, the ‘V-Kini‘, which offered a sturdier strap.

There’s also been an ‘upside down bikini’ which gained popularity online.
