Florida-Georgia Draws Largest Audience During Sleepy Week 9 Of College Football
Week 9 was a slow one for college football.
The Florida-Georgia matchup was the most-watched game of the week, but that isn’t saying much considering the CBS broadcast only tallied about 5.95M viewers. That’s the first time since Week 0, when there were only five games the entire weekend, that not a single game cracked an audience of 7M.

NBC’s broadcast of the Ohio State’s defeat of the Wisconsin Badgers came in second place with 4.87M viewers.
Audiences appear to be losing a bit of interest in Colorado as their season takes a bit of a lousy turn, but the team’s game against UCLA still came in third place this week. About 4.66M people tuned in to ABC to watch UCLA win at home.
Oklahoma-Kansas and Indiana-Penn State rounded out the Top 5 with 3.6M and 3.4M viewers, respectively. It’s worth nothing that Fox cut away from Oklahoma-Kansas in favor of Oregon-Utah, which started about 30 minutes later.
The rest of Oklahoma-Kansas played out on FS1, but who knows what kind of audience that game could have raked in had it remained on Fox, considering Kansas ended a 26-year losing streak and handed the Sooners their first loss of the season on Saturday. Oregon-Utah proved to be a much sleepier game, with the Ducks blowing the Utes out of the water.
As always, several networks are not Nielsen-rated, meaning their audiences aren’t reported week-over-week. Those include the SEC Network, ACC Network, CBS Sports Network, and the Pac-12 Network. ESPN+ and Peacock are also not Nielsen-rated for live programming.
