Flavor Flav Tells Fans ‘Health Above Wealth’ as Public Enemy Postpones Upcoming Concert Tour

Flavor Flav and Public Enemy have been forced to postpone a few of their upcoming tour dates in order to prioritize wellness.

In a recent article published by Daily Mail, it was alleged that the legendary hip-hop group cancelled their "entire Australian tour just days out"—something that the "Fight the Power" artist personally refuted with his own social media statement.

On Monday, Sept. 30, The Flavor of Love alum took to X (formerly Twitter) to provide the actual details of what transpired that caused the music group to delay "some" of the concerts.

"So much disrespect and false news in one headline,,, let me set it straight," he began the tweet. "We have to postpone some shows because my partner @MrChuckD requires immediate eye surgery. We put health above wealth."

Further, the 65-year-old took issue with an image the outlet included in an attempt to garner more attention. Positioned alongside a photo of Flavor Flav holding up a sign labeling himself "King Swiftie" was a snapshot of Taylor Swift on stage during her Eras Tour.

"Why use a picture of Taylor for clickbait,??" he questioned, confirming that his group needs no additional boost in order to receive their due recognition: "PE is in the @rockhall We good."

In the comment thread, fans showed support and appreciation for the update.

"Leave my homey alone! Lead man gets sick and they gotta postpone! Let people be human!!" one exclaimed, as another offered, "Speedy recovery to Chuck D!!!" and a third added, "Praying for his speedy recovery. Health before wealth."

The revolutionary group was slated to bring its On the Grid 35th Anniversary Tour to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane this October, however, they've confirmed the postponement of the event series in a press statement.

“I’m sorry to make you wait a little longer but I need to get this eye surgery done, so I can really rock the house for you and Bring The Noise. Stay tuned for the new dates,” Chuck D said in the statement, per Rolling Stone Australia.

The statement added that “all existing ticketholders will be notified of rescheduled dates once confirmed and need not take action; original purchases will be valid for the rescheduled date without the need for exchange.”
