The Five Guys French Fry Hack We Wish We’d Known About Sooner

French fries are a fan-favorite item at most fast-food chains—and for good reason. Whether they're the thin, perfectly salted fries at McDonald's, the crispy waffle fries at Chick-fil-A or the bottomless steak fries at Red Robin, the deep-fried potatoes are almost always a hit.

And what's more American than a burger and fries? While it's not as big as McDonald's, thousands of folks visit Five Guys on the regular when they want a big juicy burger (or a grilled cheese cheeseburger) with all the toppings, plus a side of fries.

Five Guys is known for really good fries and for giving customers a generous portion, too. But what even frequent customers may not know is that you can make DIY loaded fries. They aren't on the menu, but we've got the scoop on exactly how to make loaded french fries the next time you're at Five Guys.

How to Order Five Guys Loaded Fries

Ask if you can order a chopped Little Bacon Cheeseburger with no bun along with your choice of toppings on the side. Next, ask for a little fry. For tools, you'll need to ask for a tin foil container. Add the fries to the container, then top with the chopped cheeseburger and garnish with your condiments—ketchup, relish, onions and/or crumbled bacon are all great choices.

"It feels criminal that loaded fries aren't a thing on the menu," said reddit user Temporary-Platypus80 to kick off a thread about the loaded fries hack. "The fries are good, the cheese is good and all the toppings in the store is good. Like damn, sometimes I don't even wanna order the burgers (Even though they good) when I see the possibility of loaded fries."

Other commenters were also big fans of this hack. "I used to dice up a patty on the grill along with tomato, onion, mushroom, cajun seasoning, sauce and cheese. Then add that onto the fries with bacon and it was so good," they said.
