Five arrested following suburban shooting

A man is in a critical condition following a shooting in Victoria’s Gippsland region on Monday night.

A fight is alleged to have broken out between two groups at a house on Hawker St in Moe shortly after 8pm which led to the 28-year-olds injuries.

The man reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body that required him to be flown to hospital.

Police arrested five men who remained at the scene following the altercation, who are now assisting them with their inquiries.

Armed Crime Squad detectives have set up a crime scene at the address and are investigating the incident.

It is believed that the two groups were known to each other and any witnesses or anyone with information is being asked to come forward.
