YOU Sets April End Date on Netflix — Watch Joe Reunite With [Spoiler] in First Season 5 Trailer
Goodbye, YOU. Netflix has revealed that Penn Badgley’s serial killer drama will return for its fifth and final season on April 24, 2025.
The announcement comes with a chilling first look at the show’s “killer finale,” as Joe Goldberg returns to New York City and reunites with his inanimate partner in crime — the cage.

“Here we are, together again, back to where it began,” Joe says in a voiceover. “A lot has happened these many years together — identities, cities, loves, complications — but all that led me here, to now, to where I was always meant to be. And the one constant, the one thing that’s always been there for me, is you. You, who have been there the whole time and will be there with me until the end. Goodbye, you.”

The teaser also invites viewers to walk down memory lane with Joe, as he reflects on the lives he ruined — and in many case, ended — over the years. Among the faces seen in the teaser are Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle), Kate Galvin (Charlotte Richie), Benji (Lou Taylor Pucci), Cary (Travis Van Winkle) and Sherry Conrad (Shalita Grant), and Delilah Alves (Carmela Zumbado).
“Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires,” teases the final season’s official logline.
Michael Foley and Justin Lo serve as showrunners for YOU‘s final season, executive-producing alongside Badgley, Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, Marcos Siega and Neil Reynolds.
Badgley wrapped filming the final season in August, an occasion he commemorated by channeling his inner Jools Lebron for a special message to fans, reflecting on his time “playing a romantic icon” with a heavy wink. Hit PLAY on the video below to watch it all go down:
You may recall that YOU’s fourth season relocated Joe to London, where he started over as a college professor named Jonathan Moore after faking his own death. But old habits die hard, unlike so many of Joe’s previous victims, so it wasn’t long before he fell back into his murderous ways.
After finding love with a British trust fund baby, Joe’s back in New York City for one last hurrah — and his return from the “dead” could also bring some familiar faces out of the woodwork.
“We have kept scrupulous track of everybody who knows anything about Joe who’s not dead,” then-showrunner Sera Gamble told TVLine at the end of Season 4, clarifying that “the ones who are dead could still appear in dreams and hallucinations.” As she put it, “There are some very smart people who are alive. Some of them are in jail, and some of them are basically in witness protection, but there’s no reason to believe he’s safe.”
Read on for a breakdown of the new faces we’ll encounter in the final season of YOU, then drop a comment with your thoughts below: How do you hope Joe’s story will end?
Who Is Joe’s New Obsession?
Joe may still be in a committed relationship with Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), but since when has that stopped him from admiring another woman from afar? Or, you know, from way too close?
Enter Madeline Brewer as Bronte, described as an “enigmatic and free-spirited playwright who comes to work at Joe Goldberg’s new bookstore.”
Who Else Is Joining YOU Season 5?
Prepare for trouble, and make it double: Anna Camp (True Blood) will appear in the dual roles of Reagan and Maddie Lockwood, Joe’s twin sisters-in-law, while Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant) will play Joe’s “snarky yet loyal” brother-in-law Teddy Lockwood
