Yahoo Lifestyle ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Star Looks Unrecognizable in Recent Sighting
An actress who starred in one of John Hughes’ beloved movies of the 1980s looked nearly unrecognizable when she was spotted out in public earlier this week.
Mia Sara became an icon of ‘80s teen comedies with her starring role in 1986’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The film also starred Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, a high school senior determined to enjoy one last day off from school before graduating and starting life as a college-aged adult, and Alan Ruck as Bueller’s best friend and classmate. Sara, now 57, played Broderick’s onscreen girlfriend, Sloane Peterson.

New photos taken earlier this week ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday showed the actress walking around a gray vehicle parked in a lot in Los Angeles, Calif., while clutching a large black bag that she had slung over her left shoulder. The photos, which The Daily Mail published on Friday, Nov. 29, showed Sara wearing a blue and green flannel long-sleeved shirt with black pants and knee-high black leather boots. Her short gray hair looked slightly windswept as she looked out across the parking lot, with something in the distance appearing to have captured her attention.
Sara’s 1986 breakthrough role came just one year after her first film appearance in Legend, a movie she starred in alongside Tom Cruise. While the Timecop star acted in several films in the late 1980s and 1990s, her movie appearances became less frequent in the early 2000s.
Despite her step away from onscreen roles over the last several years, Sara is starring in a new film expected to be released in the U.S. next year. The Life of Chuck, a science fiction film also starring Tom Hiddleston, Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill and Chiwetel Ejiofor, celebrated its world premiere back in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
