Karl Lagerfeld has rubbished rumours that he is set to retire from his role as creative director of Chanel.

However, thankfully Chanel have shot those mumblings down, claiming they're "unsubstantiated".

"The rumours about Mr Lagerfeld discontinuing the collections and the cruise collection show in Cuba being the last are unsubstantiated," a spokesperson for Chanel told Vogue.

Yesterday, Page Six reported that the designer was planning on leaving the scene, with sources saying “he is not doing well and he’s ready to stop.”

Lagerfeld is something of a workaholic, juggling duties for Chanel, Fendi, and his own label.

And, as Page Six mentions, Lagerfeld has stated in the past that he would never retire.

Although Jay Z once said the Black Album would be his last and...we all know how that turned out.
