Chrissy Teigen Breaks Instagram’s Boob Rules

Chrissy Teigen isn’t shy on social media.

She’s unabashed in her opinions, shares details of her life without filter, and is generally so candid that she even receives death threats for her openness.

It’s why she’s loved, hated, and often in trouble for one thing or another. But why she wasn’t on the receiving end of a citation for her most recent post is a mystery.

The 29-year-old was shot by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for a spread in W magazine.

She appears sitting, rather uncomfortably, on a plastic-covered lime green sofa seat wearing white Dolce & Gabbana briefs, a Stephen Webster bracelet, Chopard ring, and thigh-high lace Altuzarra boots.

Her perky breasts are free as can be.

She shared the image on Instagram with the caption, “[three heart emojis] this story shot by#mertandmarkus for @wmag. Honoured to be in the company of such gorgeous women!”

The others include Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Doutzen Kroes, and more professional lingerie promoters, all posing provocatively in Agent Provocateur, Victoria’s Secret, and little else.

“The most uncomfortable I’ve ever been on set was having to model coats,” Teigen told the magazine. “I actually am better in less clothing.”

There’s nothing surprising about Teigen sharing the pic - she looks hot. But why hasn’t Instagram taken it down?

Every other attempt to free the nipple has quickly attracted the social media police.

Scout Willis kickstarted the #freethenipple campaign with a photo of her walking around New York City topless. The site, which has a strict nudity policy, deleted the photo, claiming it didn’t follow the guidelines.

Chelsea Handler followed - multiple times - with images of her riding a horse without a shirt on while on top of a mountain peak. Both were swiftly removed and the latter now takes to Twitter when she’s overcome with a sensation to flash her followers.

Miley Cyrus attempted to show off her breasts as well, sans pasties, but had to resort to editing her selfie with pizza slices over her areolas in order to share it.

So why is Teigen special?

It could be because of her likability.

X-rated images usually come to the attention of Instagram’s staff based on an inordinate amounts of complaints.

After just an hour, the post had more than 50,000 likes and nearly 10,000 comments.

Most of the people sounding off directed their friends to the photo, many praised her for showing what she’s got, and a heated debate even erupted over whether or not they’re implants - but no one’s complaining.
