Holly Golightly’s Manhattans

In the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey Hepburn plays Truman Capote’s delightfully eccentric Holly Golightly to a tee. As Holly, Audrey wore a pair of Manhattan sunglasses by Oliver Goldsmith and had a character-defining habit of peering above the large frames. An exact replica of the style was released last year to mark the 50th anniversary of the film.

Sunglasses are a double-duty accessory that no one should be without. Not only do they protect our eyes from harsh UV rays but, as these icons have proved, they also make a serious fashion statement.
