Royal hotties love a fashion bargain

Their parents forked out a hefty £60,000 (A$92,000) bill for the wedding gown and maid of honour dress, but it was the next day High Street outfits that kept us talking.

The two sisters, Kate and Pippa stepped out in affordable Zara clothing the day after the royal wedding, despite their multi-millionaire parents and royal relations.

They could afford the most expensive designer labels thanks to their money background, but the Duchess of Cambridge and her (hot) younger sister stay grounded and down to earth with an eye for bargain clothing.

Walking hand in hand with husband Prince William for their weekend away, all eyes were on her outfit. Kate looked radiant in a cornflower blue dress that retails for £49.99 (A$77) at the UK Zara store, paired with £129.99 (A$200) black LK Bennett patent pumps (the same ones worn on the eve of her wedding as she arrived at The Goring hotel), kept warm by a simple black jacket.

Her sister hailed ‘her royal hotness’ chose a classic royal blue double breasted blazer from Zara UK costing £69.99 (A$107), complete with white jeans, Bristol bag and £120 (A$183) ballet pumps from American designer Tory Burch.

Whether or not these girls discussed their clothing choice, one would presume they did because of their close relationship, the move was an excellent one, coincidence or not.

The choice and price of their everyday outfits just reinforce to the public that they are just regular people, one who happened to marry into the royal family.

But this stands in stark contrast to the price the Middleton family paid for the wedding gowns. Kate’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress cost £40,000 (A$61,000), with Pippa's dress costing a cool £20,000 (A$30,500). I guess you only get married to a Prince once.

These sisters who call themselves ‘best friends’ love to shop and love a good bargain, which is great for the public.

Kate who is now hailed as a style icon and Pippa with her new found fame as Britain’s most eligible Bachelorette, whatever the sisters wear, the rest of us will follow.
