A UK woman learned a valuable lesson this week: don't be naked when you take photos of items you plan to sell online.

Aimi Hodges, 21, from Oxford in England unknowingly (we presume) posted a photo of herself on eBay in which she's pictured naked from the waist down.

Wearing nothing but a bra, the young waitress hung her yellow skater dress in front of a mirror in order to take the photos for her eBay listing.

It didn't take long for the photo to go viral, with the hashtag #ebayyellowskaterdress trending on Twitter.

Talking to the Sun website in the UK, Hodges admitted she was very embarrassed by the slip-up. "It is such a dizzy, stupid thing to do and now the whole world’s seen me in the nude," she said.

Not surprisingly eBay took the listing down, but the Hodges was quick to relist the dress, complete with photos showing her in the same pose, wearing pants and a top this time, and "As seen by thousands. Never worn naked" in the description.

Initially listed at £15.99 (AUD$24.35), the dress's notoriety sent bidders into a frenzy. The listing was cancelled at £153,100.00 (AUD$233,164) - perhaps the most expensive ASOS dress ever.
