Beyonce Wins Fashion Icon Award
While Twitter fans were adamant that today's battle for the CFDA Fashion Icon award was clearly between Kim Kardashian and Lil Kim, Beyonce swooped in at the last moment and trumped them both.

Dressed in a striped sequin Givenchy tux and oversized hat, the singer, who sneakily by-passed the red carpet, hit the stage to accept the award in front of surprised guests.
She was introduced by CFDA Chairman Diane von Furstenberg, who spoke about the singer’s far-reaching fashion influence and her new Topshop line, Ivy Park.
“As long as I can remember, fashion has been a part of my life,” said Beyonce. “Fashion is a tool for finding your own identity, expression and strength.”

Others weren't so happy with the news however:
This category is ruined forever. I have absolutely no problem with Beyonce, but she doesn't deserve this award and that's a fact.

Either way, it explains why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did not show up to the awards. If they had though, we can’t help but wonder if Kanye would have let Beyonce finish her speech.
