“This is the first time it’s been said. It happened about an hour ago so it’s all very exciting," Valance said with a massive grin on her face.

"We had a bit of a try-on session today in their office and oh my goodness the clothes are just beautiful.

"I just love European fashion and it works for my body. I’ve got a big-boned body and I’ve got the hips and everything. It works so well and I’m just so excited."

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Valance fronting the autumn/winter collection for Guess Australia, pictured above.

Valance looked stunning as she worked the red carpet before the Oscar de la Renta show at Carriageworks on Friday night.

The star was wearing an off-the-shoulder dress by Australian designer Nicola Finetti which she revealed had to be altered before she could take it home.

"To be honest it is one of his pieces but I tried it on and none of his outfits fit - they’re for tiny little models," she said.

The actress said they had to insert ‘patch’ at the back of the dress to make it fit and it was ready within an hour.

"I said it’s my ribs I’m big-boned," she laughed.
