Vogue Cut The Arms Off A Chair So Claire Danes Could Sit Down In Her Dress

Claire Dane's Met Gala dress was so big that Vogue had to cut the arms off a chair so she could sit down in it.

Danes stunned in a custom designed Zac Posen “Galactic Cinderella” gown at the “technology meets fantasy” themed Met Gala on Monday night, however the LED dress was so big that it needed a minibus to get her to the event and she required special seating.

Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Posen said Danes only had two fittings for the spectacular dress and he built an incredible 30 battery packs into the side to power the LED lights "that were illuminating the fiber optic woven organza".

However while the dress was certainly a sight to behold on the red carpet, Danes required some special assistance at the event.

"It is possible to sit in the dress, Vogue actually cut off the arms of one of the chairs and turned it into a stool to make Claire’s dining experience more enjoyable," Posen said.

"Claire has a modern dance background, so she understood the performance aspect of it … despite that fact that she hadn’t previously worn such a big ball gown."

Posen also revealed that there have already been requests for the magical dress to travel around the globe so we don't think this is the last we're going to see of the mesmerising creation.
