This Is What Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama Wore To Dinner

For the Duchess of Cambridge, it’s a fashion-history-moment in the making whenever she steps outside the comfort of her palace’s many walls — whether she likes it or not.

The woman is a creature of comfort, choosing favorite brands such as Jenny Packham, Alexander McQueen, and L.K. Bennett over and over again in silhouettes including coats that double as dresses, fit and flare frocks, and skirt suits, all of which she occasionally pairs with fun fascinators.

But when she switches things up — such as in a Dolce & Gabbana lace dress or a Ralph Lauren hounds-tooth piece — it’s always a welcome sartorial respite.

And when she tops those items off with a tiara, well that’s just icing on the cake, or crumpet, I should say.

Before dining together, Prince Harry, President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posed for a photo together in front of Kensington Palace last night.

While Michelle dressed like a Monica Rose client (Kendall and Gigi’s stylist) in a peach monochrome ensemble, Kate Middleton opted for an LK Bennett dress in an abstract print.

As for the boys, they all went sans ties for the casual affair.

Prince George even wore his robe to cocktail hour.
