The 34-year-old comedienne has peeled off her clothes and bared her imperfect curves for photographer Annie Leibovitz as she posed for a series of untouched shots.

She said of the revealing, but natural, shoot: "I've never felt more beautiful or more like myself."

Resting on a stool in a pair of lacy knickers and sky-scraper heels, the blonde beauty hid her breasts with her arm as she sipped on a coffee cup and gazed into the distance.

Keen to empower women around the globe, Amy took to her Instagram account this morning to upload the hard-hitting photograph along with a caption featuring an array of positive and negative adjectives.

She wrote: "Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman."

The calendar usually focuses on glamour and seduction and has previously featured the likes of Naomi Campbell, Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and Sienna Miller, but Annie - who has taken control since 2000 - was keen to take the shoot in a different direction this year.

She said: "When Pirelli approached me, they said they wanted to make a departure from the past. They suggested the idea of photographing distinguished women. After we agreed on that, the goal was to be very straightforward. I wanted the pictures to show the women exactly as they are, with no pretense."

Amy is joined in the calendar by a host of "distinguished" ladies including tennis professional Serena Williams, 34, who looked powerful and striking as she posed up against a wall, showing off her incredibly toned back and curvaceous thighs.

Supermodel-turned-humanitarian Natalia Vodianova, patroness Agnes Gund, writer Fran Lebowitz, charity boss Mellody Hobson, film director Ava DuVernay, young blogger Tavi Gevinson, Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat and John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono also feature.

The calendar, which was first released in 1964, has limited availability and is dished out to a small number of Pirelli customers and VIPs.
