Victoria Beckham Opens Up About Falling For Sexiest Man Alive David

Not only has 40-year-old David Beckham been voted the sexiest man alive, but according to his wife, Victoria Beckham, he's also a huge family man and a romantic at heart.

Speaking to People magazine, Victoria said David was very respectful before he asked her to marry him, and even sought permission from her father.

"When he proposed he asked my dad first, which is such a respectful thing to do," she said.

The 41-year-old former Spice Girl, who has been married to David since 1999, also talked about the first time she fell for her handsome husband.

"The first time I met David, nearly 20 years ago, we were at a football match," she said.

"After the game all the other players were having a drink with their friends and David was standing with his mum and dad and his younger sister Joanne. Family is important to him."

The star said his core family values are what makes their relationship work and they both make sure to spend as much family time together as possible.

David dethroned Australian actor Chris Hemsworth to be named this year's People magazine Sexiest Man Alive.
