ASOS 'shocking' customer service sees shoppers banned

British actress Lucy Mecklenburgh has sparked an uproar against online fashion retailer ASOS after calling them out for refusing to refund her missing order and banning her from ever ordering again.

The stylish TV star revealed she had ordered an ‘expensive’ birthday gift for her boyfriend Ryan Thomas but after never receiving the parcel she reached out to ASOS customer care.

ASOS responded with an email that read, “After an assessment of your account, we’ve made the decision to not issue a refund for your item. It is very rare for items to go missing and ASOS have therefore made the decision to not accept any further orders from you.”

“As we’re unable to help you further with this, any emails received about this matter will automatically be closed down with no response,” the email continued.

Clearly unimpressed with their response Lucy shared a screenshot of the email on Twitter while venting about the fashion brand’s customer service to her 1.59 million followers.

And just like her, fans were not happy.

“They’re failing big time here,” one fan said.

“This is honestly so awful! It seems like ASOS have turned into complete children and are just sticking their fingers in their ears screaming, ‘la la laaaa I can’t hear you’,” another commented.

Several others joined in on her rage as they shared their own poor experiences dealing with the fashion giant’s ‘shocking’ customer service.

“I had this happen to me and ASOS and DPD_UK refused to help me. This was with next day delivery and premier too. Spent thousands at ASOS only to feel like a worthless powerless customer,” one person wrote.

Others who worked in retail revealed they would ‘never’ send a response like that and would always either refund or at least investigate the matter.

One person – who is also having this dispute with them – even pointed out that under the Consumer Rights Act, retailers are responsible for all orders until it has been delivered and in the case of missing deliveries, they are responsible for ‘putting things right.’

ASOS since told Metro.co.uk: “We want all of our customers to have a great experience ASOS, and are working with Lucy to understand what happened in this case.”

However many of the fitness star’s fans are already ready to boycott the label after being so appalled by how the matter was handled.
