Fans Shower Olivia Munn With Love for 'Inspiring' Photos Showing Her Mastectomy Scars

Olivia Munn showed off her scars from a mastectomy procedure in a new photoshoot for SKIMS that is getting rave responses from fans.

People are showering the actress with praise and encouragement for her "powerful" new photos, which promote the clothing brand and a partnership with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure nonprofit supporting breast cancer research, patient treatment and more.

Munn shared the new images on Instagram on Oct. 23, with the star modeling black leggings, while her mastectomy scar was visible on the underside of her breast. In a few other images, Munn also stunned in a versatile black bra.

"In the middle of this latest @SKIMS campaign shoot, I decided I was done being insecure about my mastectomy scars," she wrote in a vulnerable caption explaining the photos. "Every mark life has left behind on my body is proof of how hard I fought. I hope other women who have been self-conscious about their scars see these photos and feel all the love I’m sending."

Munn also announced that SKIMS would be donating 10 percent of retail sales between Oct. 23 and 31 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, noting, "It’s really meaningful to be part of an initiative that supports research and helps countless individuals impacted by breast cancer."

The Newsroom actress' post also referenced kintsugi, which is the Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery using gold, silver or platinum.

The Susan G. Komen nonprofit commented in response to the post, writing to Munn, "Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others to take charge of their breast health. 💕."

"Powerful 👏," wrote a fan in response to the update, as others cheered her on saying, "THE SCARS ARE STRENGTH MAMA LIV," "This is fantastic, sister. Absolutely rockstar," and "Always a cool girl, but this is next level. Cheers to your bravery. Truly impressive ♥️✨."

More fans encouraged Munn with replies like, "So consequential and gorgeous!" and "Always a stunner no matter the scars. It’s your battle/victory scar. Wear it with pride."

Munn opened up about her breast cancer journey in March 2024, when she revealed that she was diagnosed in April 2023.
