Fans react to news two movie stars’ kids are dating: ‘Makes sense’
The internet is currently freaking out over the news that the children of Hollywood actors Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are dating in real life.
The funny duo are friends both on and off-screen, having worked together in the 1992 rom-com Boomerang and the 1999 comedy Life, but are now closer than ever before.
Their children, Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence, have said they are “head over heels in love” after making their romance Instagram official last month.
Posting online at the end of June, Eric shared a sweet selfie with the hashtags ‘my other half’, ’equally yoked’ and ‘I love you’.

Jasmin also shared two photos on social media last week to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday, writing: “I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side.”
“Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories,” she continued. "I love you so much!”
Jasmin is Martin Lawrence’s eldest daughter, who he welcomed with his ex-wife Patricia Southhall. He also has two more daughters with his second ex-wife Shamicka Gibbs.
Following in her father's footsteps, the 25-year-old is also an actor with a brief cameo in Martin’s 2020 film Bad Boys For Life.
Meanwhile, Eddie Murphy’s eldest son Eric is a writer and voice actor who is currently developing an animated series of his own, according to talent agency Avalon Entertainment.
The Beverly Hills Cop actor currently has ten children between the ages of 2 and 32 years old from his relationships with Eric’s mum Paulette McNeely, Tamara Hood, Nicole Murphy, Spice Girls’ member Melanie Brown and fiancée Paige Butcher.
After finding out about the latest celebrity couple, fans rushed to Twitter to share their reactions.
“This could turn into the funniest wedding ever!” one person commented.
“The fact that Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence’s children are a couple makes me extremely happy,” another wrote, while a third added, “that makes sense to me”.
“If they have a son he will be the funniest man on earth I swear,” a different user replied.
Others suggested that there needs to be a comedy film made about the relationship ‘ASAP’.
“I can see the movie now,” one fan tweeted. “Eddie and Martin bickering putting together a wedding with them both also playing other characters.”
“I smell a Meet the Parents reboot,” someone else shared.
