Fans outraged after A Star Is Born snubbed at Golden Globes

It was a night of celebration for the cast and crew of Bohemian Rhapsody when the movie took out the Best Film (Drama) award at the 2019 Golden Globes.

But the film’s victory has also sparked plenty of outrage on social media, with many fans disappointed that Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born didn’t win.

A Star is Born got robbed again. It’s like your voters forgot to watch it,” wrote one viewer.

So you’re telling me bohemian rhapsody won over Black Panther AND A Star is Born??!!” tweeted another.

The nominees for Best Film (Drama) at the Golden Globes this year were five diverse films.

They were A Star Is Born, At Eternity’s Gate, Boy Erased, Bohemian Rhapsody and BlacKkKlansman.

While A Star Is Born didn’t win the Best Film category, it did take out the award for Best Original Song for its popular track, Shallow.

Lady Gaga joined her fellow songwriters on stage to accept the award, fighting back tears as she spoke.

“I just have to say, as a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a musician and a songwriter,” she said.

“These three incredible men… they lifted me up and supported me,” she continued. “Bradley, I love you.”
