Fans Are Calling Taco Bell's Returning Sweet Treat a 'Huge Win'
Taco Bell is making good on its promise to serve up nostalgic menu items nationwide–at least, for a limited time–including one of its most-anticipated desserts.
We have it on good word that this one super sweet limited-edition item is set to return later. Here's a hint: it features a crispy and light exterior that's filled with apple pieces and a creamy caramel filling.
If you guessed the Caramel Apple Empanada, you'd be right. An employee at the Mexican-inspired fast food chain confirmed to blogger Markie_devo that Taco Bell is taking its "Through the Decades Menu" nationwide, with scattered releases of several limited-time options scheduled through the rest of the year (some of which are only available in the app) after market testing it on the West Coast earlier this summer.
As Parade previously reported, the limited-edition menu highlights some of the most commonly ordered menu items since Taco Bell popped up in the 1960s: its OG Tostada, Green Burrito, the Meximelt and Beef Gordita Supreme.
To say customers are excited about the upcoming menu drops would be an understatement, as one quipped: "My prayers have been answered and I can take a break from harassing Taco Bell about the empanada🤭."
"The meximelt!!!!" a second exclaimed. "I’ll take 20."
"Wish they had through the decades prices to go along with it lol," a third joked.
"Huge win for longtime fans of the Caramel Apple Empanada," another Instagram user cheered.
Along with all the additions headed to participating locations serving its "eat through the decades" menu, Taco Bell separately announced plans to return another beloved snack item: its Nacho Fries.
