A Fan-Favorite Reese's Blizzard Is Back at Dairy Queen
Get it before it’s gone!
It’s mid-fall right now, heading into winter and winter holidays. Pumpkin- and peppermint-flavored foods and drinks fill coffee houses, restaurants, and grocery stores.
As much as I enjoy these treats, they’re more special as annual treats. I’d get tired of them if I had them all the time, and I imagine that’s true of most of us. We don’t exclusively indulge in pumpkin and peppermint-flavored things this time of year—we still enjoy other flavors.
Dairy Queen gets that, and its November Blizzard of the month is neither pumpkin nor peppermint. In August, DQ released its Pumpkin Pie Blizzard when people grew weary of the heat and humidity and dreamed of donning sweaters in a pumpkin patch for orange-tinged Instagram photos. For November, DQ is offering a Blizzard flavor combo beloved year-round: peanut butter and chocolate.
Dairy Queen's New Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard
November’s Blizzard of the month is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard, which “delivers peanut butter-filled bliss in every bite,” according to Dairy Queen. The limited-edition Blizzard has Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and graham cracker-pie crust pieces blended in vanilla soft serve. Whipped topping completes the pie vibe.
That does sound tasty, but since DQ Blizzard’s are customizable (even its limited-time varieties), Instagram’s Snackolator had a great suggestion when posting about the frozen treat.
“I don't believe it comes with peanut butter blended in,” Snackolator commented. “So that would be the one addition I'd make because that could be an all-time great fall Blizzard!”
One of the account's followers suggested subbing chocolate soft serve for the vanilla, too, which makes some sense since a traditional Reese’s is all chocolate and peanut butter with no vanilla in the mix. Another commenter said they get it with twist ice cream (probably vanilla and chocolate), giving Blizzard drinkers the best of both ice cream worlds.
Another commenter had the best advice about the November Blizzard of the month, whether you order it as-is or customize it:
“Don’t sleep on this,” they said. Smart advice, given it’s a limited-time offering.
