This week, Twilight author Stephanie Meyers released Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined - a spin on her original vampire-human love story between a human boy called Beau Swan and a immortal girl Edythe Cullen - and now an old interview with Kristen Stewart has been unearthed about her views on the characters swapping roles!

In the video chat with Hollywood Stream back in 2012, K-Stew discusses what she thinks it would be like if her character Bella was a male and her love interest Edward Cullen was female.

"I think if you were to swap the roles, people would find Edward so courageous," the 25-year-old says in the clip. "Like, Wow, he just laid it all on the line for her and really trusts himself.

"Even in the face of the strongest adversity, he doesn't deny his feelings."

The new boy-meets-girl vampire book has been released in honour of the Twilight series 10th anniversary.

"I thought, 'What if we switched it around a bit and see how a boy does,' and, you know, it's about the same," author Stephanie says.

"The further you get in, the more it changes because the personalities get a little bit different, but it starts out very similar and really, it really is the same story because it's just a love story and it doesn't matter who's the boy and who's the girl. It still works out."
