‘Selling Sunset’ Will Not Have a Season 8 ReunionNetflix

To say that Selling Sunset season 7 was drama-filled is...well, a serious understatement. Like, between the multiple arguments breaking out between brokers at The Oppenheim Group, Marie-Lou Nurk’s T-E-N-S-E meeting with Chrishell Stause that rivals *that* The Crown season 4 lunch between Diana and Camilla, the arrival of outside agent Cassandra Dawn, and the constant questioning of just how these ladies are able to showcase multi-million dollar homes in the skinniest, highest pair of heels (still wondering, TYVM), there was a looooot going on—in the best way possible, of course.

And after a season finale that truly shook us to our cores, we were all probs wondering the same thing: Will Selling Sunset season 8 be just as explosive? Welp, here's everything we know about the latest iteration to hit out screens!

When will Selling Sunset season 8 hit Netflix?

Good q! The highly-anticipated series premiere for season 8 was on September 6!

That means you can tune in right TF now!!!

FYI, during the Selling Sunset season 7 reunion that debuted on November 15, 2023, it was announced that the head honchos over at Netflix gave the green light for season 8 to take place. Additionally, Jason Oppenheim himself confirmed the news to the Hollywood Reporter and even noted that production would begin soon on the latest installment of the series.

“For me, each season gets more and more fun. When we were doing season 1, we were like, ‘If we can get to season three, we had a real show. Anything above that would be icing.’ We’ve been running on icing for years now,” he mused during his convo with the outlet.

Good! To! Know!!!

What will season 8 be about?

’Kay, so without giving *too* much away, season 7 of Selling Sunset saw The Oppenheim Group expand to sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with many of our favorite faces traveling to see the new offices. Sadly, the Cabo branch of Jason and Brett’s business wasn’t as much of a focal point in season 8, but it’s definitely possible that it’ll play a role in the future!

Additionally, another plot point surfaced when the Selling Sunset season 8 trailer dropped on August 13 (watch it below!): the demise of Chelsea Lazkani and her husband Jeff Lazkani's marriage, which occurred in March of this year.

“I heard information that could really affect families, marriages...” cast member Nicole Young can be seen saying in the clip. The shocking admission is then followed up by Bre Tiesi covering her mouth in shock, while fellow Selling Sunset stars Mary Bonnet and Chrishell Stause pass around a phone with equally astounded expressions.

In another clip, Bri says, “They say don’t shoot the messenger, but she’s definitely going to shoot me,” in a voiceover as she walks to meet Chelsea at a restaurant, who, in a separate confessional shot cries, “I don’t wanna do this. I can’t do this.”

As of this very moment, you can see how the entire ordeal comes to light IRL, and needless to say it’s m-e-s-s-y.

Which cast members will be returning?

Luckily, all the usual suspects—ahem: Jason and Brett Oppenheim, Chrishell Stause, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young, and Bre Tiesi—were there once the cameras started rolling again for season 8.

Additionally, new agent Alanna Whittaker, who was first introduced in a previous trailer, is featured throughout the episodes!

Oh, and btw, Heather Rae El Moussa’s future on the show is a little less clear, especially after her extremely reduced role in season 7. During an interview with E! News in March 2023, the real estate agent revealed, “Season 7 is filming right now, but I’ve been off maternity leave and I’ve been excited to get back to work. And so far, I’ve not been called back. It’s been a little frustrating. So, not sure what’s been going on.”

It’s also possible that her exciting new HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, could potentially conflict with her role on Selling Sunset. Back in August 2022, Brett Oppenheim actually opened up to E! News and revealed that her presence on the show was “TBD” because of this very reason. “I think for now she’s able to do both...I know she’s still going to be at The Oppenheim Group. I think that’s with her and production and Netflix and all that,” he mused.

Another person who might not be back for future episodes? Jason’s now ex-girlfriend, model Marie-Lou Nurk, who had a beyond, erm, awk convo with Chrishell last season that will forever live in my head rent-free. Watch it for the first (or 100th) time if you dare lol:

Is there a trailer for Selling Sunset season 8?

Yes!!! Happy watching:

'Kay, so how about that reunion...

Yeah, about that. 😬 According to People, the cast “won’t be hashing out the drama in a reunion” this time around. Now, if you’re all?!?!?! in light of the news, Variety chimed in with its own intel on September 11, when it claimed the reason for the decision was due to a “cast mutiny.” Yiiiikes. Btw, a bulk of the drama might have to do with this...
