Yahoo Lifestyle Eva Longoria Clarifies She Didn’t Leave U.S. “Because Of Trump”
Although Eva Longoria has relocated outside the United States, she didn’t make her decision based on any one politician.
The Golden Globe nominee, who mostly splits her time between Spain and Mexico City with her family, clarified that she didn’t leave the country because of Donald Trump being re-elected as president.

“Will you please let them know I didn’t move out of the United States because of Trump? … I’ve been in Europe for almost three years,” she explained to The View co-host Ana Navarro as she called into the Behind the Table podcast.
Longoria noted that her work has taken her abroad, having previously filmed her Apple TV+ series Land of Women in Spain, as well as the upcoming CNN series Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain. “That’s why I’m in Europe. I didn’t leave because of the political environment,” she added. “I left because my work took me there.”
Although the Desperate Housewives alum explained that to Marie Claire, she told Navarro, “People just grabbed some clickbait stuff to be divisive, which makes me so sad, that everything you say is just meant to be divisive when we can’t be that way tight now.”
She added, “Being away from the constant 24-hour news cycle puts you in a bit of a bubble for sure.”
Longoria’s surprise call came after she told the magazine that she felt fortunate to no longer live in Los Angeles following Trump’s election victory against Kamala Harris last week.
“I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky,” she said. “They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.
“I had my whole adult life here. But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now,” added Longoria.
