Emmys: Kieran Culkin Wins Best Actor in a Drama Series for Succession

Waystar CEO? Pshaw. Kieran Culkin has an even cooler title: Emmy winner.

At Monday’s Fox-televised ceremony, Culkin won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work as Roman Roy in the fourth and final season of HBO’s Succession. This was his first time competing in the lead race after previously submitting himself in the supporting category.

Culkin prevailed over two of his Succession co-stars, Brian Cox and previous winner Jeremy Strong, as well as Jeff Bridges (The Old Man), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us).

His victory comes roughly seven months after Succession aired its series finale (read recap here), and a little over a week since he won the same honor at the Golden Globes.

Monday’s Anthony Anderson-hosted Emmy telecast on Fox — which was originally set to air in September — was delayed due to Hollywood’s now-resolved strikes.
