Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Mackenzie Boyd and Charity Dingle have faced a romantic setback in Emmerdale.
The pair have been secretly hooking up behind Chloe Harris's back, despite Mack assuring Chloe that he want to raise their son Reuben together.
Chloe collapsed in her kitchen while Mack was trying to break up with her, causing a panic as she was rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, the doctor suggested Chloe's collapse was likely nothing to do with her brain injury.
Mack promised Chloe he'd be by her side if anything similar happened, though he was secretly making plans to be with Charity behind his fiancée's back.
Mack turned up at the Woolpack with the bad news that Chloe's doctors say she'll need round-the-clock care at least through Christmas. Charity questioned whether the long delay in getting together may be God's way of keeping them apart.
"Well, if it is, that would explain all the floods, famines and fires while he focuses on the small stuff," Mack quipped.
Charity confided in Mack that she missed him and wanted to be with him, with Mackenzie agreeing that he felt the same way.
"We can't do anything until the New Year, can we?" Charity realised.
Mack then cheekily suggested: "We could do some things… like be careful we don't get caught."
Charity caught on to his hints and revealed she was headed off to have "a lie down" in the spare room, but she'd leave the backdoor open.
The couple won't have as long to wait as they expect, as upcoming storyline spoilers have revealed that Chloe will attempt to take revenge on Mack once she learns he's seeing Charity.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
