Emma Watson has been targeted by a ring of nude photo hackers in the wake of her speech calling for men to join the feminist conversation which she delivered to the United Nations over the weekend.

The actress and newly appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador addressed her decision to identify as a feminist and called on women to dismiss recent criticism of the label.

While most praised Watson, the speech also caused a storm of hate from some online users, most notably by those on the infamous site 4chan, the forum believed to be behind the recent release of hacked pictures of celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

4chan users quickly embarked on a campaign against Watson and even created an ominous website targeting the actress.

Titled “Emma You Are Next”, the site features a photo of Watson and a countdown timer. It also features the 4chan logo and the message “Never forget, the biggest to come thus far.”

While the site does not clarify what it is counting down to, the actress was the victim of a stream of vilification and several threats made by 4chan users, which were preserved by the site Death and Taxes.

"She makes stupid feminist speeches at UN, and now her nudes will be online," one anonymous member posted.

The threat against Watson follows in the wake of a second release of celebrity nude photos by anonymous hackers over the weekend. On Saturday, photos alleging to be of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Kayley Cuoco and other celebrities leaked online and across social media. The FBI is investigating.

Earlier this month, Watson came to the defense of friend Jennifer Lawrence after dozens of nude photos of The Hunger Games actress leaked on 4Chan.

The actress tweeted: “Even worse than seeing women's privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy.
