After A Major Endorsement, Emma Roberts Responded To The Britney Spears Casting Rumors
Emma Roberts might be getting in the zone for her dream role, Britney Spears.
After the release of her memoir, The Woman In Me, everyone's been asking who would play the Princess of Pop.
The Woman In Me, Britney's New York Times bestseller entered a studio bidding war after its release. Deadline reports Universal secured the rights, with Wicked director Jon M. Chu attached to develop and direct.
The Woman in Me follows the multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning pop stars' rise and fall from grace and return to the spotlight. From her upbringing in Mississippi and Louisiana, her rise to stardom with the '90s hit album Baby One More Time, to her complicated family and personal relationships, conservatorship, and eventual freedom.
While Britney hasn't dropped a name for her possible biopic yet, people in the circle have tossed some names into the hat.
If you didn't know, Britney's former longtime assistant, Felicia Culotta, previously suggested to TMZ that Emma take on the role. According to TMZ, Felicia thinks Emma's child stardom on Nickelodeon's Unfabulous parallels Britney's time on Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club.

Emma caught the rumors, and it appears she's been preparing for this role for at least 20 years.
"I was like, I love her assistant," Emma told Cosmopolitan during an Aug. 29 interview. "I mean, it's my true dream to play Britney Spears."
"It's a rumor, but I hope maybe it'll come true. I mean, I remember I locked myself in my room and listened to In the Zone and said, 'I cannot leave this room until I memorize every word.'"
Emma has a deep admiration for Britney. "I mean, I sing Britney to my son in the bath all the time. I'm always like, 'God, he must think I'm so weird.' That's some millennial parenting."
Emma has a three-year-old son, Rhodes, with her ex Garret Hedlund.
Aside from suggesting Emma for the pop star, Britney's longtime assistant had a couple more surprising proposals for the biopic's casting.
She suggested Timothée Chalamet play Britney's ex Justin Timberlake.
And Felicia suggested Drew Barrymore plays herself.
