Emily Blunt Recalls Her Kids' Brutal Reaction To Her 'Devil Wears Prada' Role

While fans continue to rave over Emily Blunt’s memorable performance in “The Devil Wears Prada” nearly 20 years after its release, it turns out her kiddos can’t stand her role that catapulted her Hollywood career.

“They thought I was the meanest person they’ve ever met,” the actress, 41, told Page Six of her children’s reaction to her part in the 2006 drama film.

Blunt shares daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 7, with husband John Krasinski, whom she married in 2010.

In “The Devil Wears Prada,” Blunt plays a savage assistant, also conveniently named Emily, to the cold-hearted editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) of the fictional Runway Magazine.

The British actress shared she receives frequent praise over the role till this day, explaining how touched she is by the film’s impact on fans.

“It’s incredible that it has such an indelible fingerprint on people … and it’s quoted to me every week,” she explained in the interview published Sep. 16.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Blunt gushed over how she and the cast, which also includes Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci, had “the time of our lives” while filming the movie.

“At the time I was young, it was my first big movie,” she told Page Six. “I remember my agent calling me and telling me about the opening weekend. I was like, ‘Is that good?’ Like I didn’t know what was good.”

“The Devil Wears Prada” grossed a whopping $326 million at the worldwide box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Earlier this summer, the “Oppenheimer” star shared how she hopes her fictional character is doing nearly two decades later.

“I just hope she’s eating a nice French dip sandwich somewhere and she’s just happy,” Blunt contemplated to E! News at the premiere of her and Ryan Gosling’s film, “The Fall Guy.” “Not a cube of cheese. I hope she’s sort of transitioned into a proper sandwich at this point.”
